Here is where I get personal and promote the career of my son, Jared Cotter, a Season 6 American Idol, Cosmopolitan Magazines New Jersey Bachelor of 2008, TV Host on the national television network, FUSE, TV Host of The Challenge on MSG Varsity, and HIT SONGWRITER with a #1 song ("Down" by Jay Sean) on the Billboard Charts.

As a host on Fuse, American Idol finalist, Jared Cotter, charmed viewers and guests alike with his winning combination of charisma, humor and good looks on Fuse’s The Sauce - a daily variety show packed with live performances and celebrity interviews. He can now be seen on Number 1 Countdown: Pop which features the latest and greatest from the world of pop music, fashion, youth-culture and technology and You Rock, Lets Roll, the updated version of the dating game. Since joining Fuse in July 2007 Jared has interviewed top acts and talents including music mogul Jermaine Dupri, emo rockers Fall Out Boy, famed Fugee Wyclef Jean, and music and movie-star Queen Latifah.

Born and raised in Long Island, music has been a part of Jared Cotter’s life since before he started living it. Jared’s great grandfather was the first African American jazz player to perform at Carnegie Hall. In the late 70’s his father played with Nile Rogers and the late Bernard Edwards of the Big Apple Band, later known as Chic. In turn, Jared started his own recording career at the tender age of fifteen and quickly gained experience as a budding singer-songwriter, with influences including R&B legends Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Brian McKnight.

After packing his bags and leaving Simon, Paula and Randy, Jared came to Fuse and proved that he’s truly a triple-threat in the entertainment biz. He has cranked it with Soulja Boy, performed scenes from When Harry Met Sally for theatrical legend John Waters and hosted shows featuring performances by Grammy Award winning artists Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5. When he’s not on the big or small screen, you can catch Jared on the runway. He most recently modeled in the American Chang fashion show in Bryant Park, NYC.

Jared has performed all over New York City at classic venues such as BB King’s Times Square, the Village Underground, SOB’s and Madison Square Garden, as well as singing nightly for an audience of 35 million as an American Idol finalist. Jared has also been able to showcase his singing chops on Fuse, with his Thanksgiving parody “Thanks Giving It To You,” and continues to warm up his vocals while working on the creation of his first album that is expected out later this year.

Jared is also an accomplished songwriter, scoring a number 1 album in Europe and top-ten in Japan with the release of international superstar Jay Sean’s second release “My Own Way”.  He co-penned Jay Sean's third album release "All or Nothing" album including the #1 Billboard Hit Song "Down" featuring Lil Wayne, as well as "Do You Remember" featuring Sean Paul. The new Freeze Time" album has "2012" featuring Nicki Minaj and "Hit The Lights" featuring Lil Wayne.

Keeping up with his American Idol roots, Jared can be seen and heard offering his thoughts on the newest contestants. Jared is a frequent guest on Fox’s Good Day, New York where he serves an expert on their segment “Idol Chatter,” as well as on the Z100 American Idol chats with Shelley Wade.

Whether hosting, singing or acting, his job as a music host is a perfect combination of his love of music and his abilities as a performer. Look out world, there’s a new “Jay-C” in town!
